Carriage Dress - A high dress composed of lilac gros de Naples; it is a peculiar and very beautiful shade of that color. The corsage is made up to the throat, but without a collar, and sits close to the shape; sleeve a la Medicis; the skirt is finished with a light and very pretty trimming at the upper edge of the hem; it is composed of the same material as the dress. The canezon is of fine India muslin, made to sit close to the shape, and beautifully embroidered in longitudinal wreaths of foliage; it has a double falling collar slightly embroidered at the edge. The work of the epaulettes is equally remarkable for its novelty and beauty. The head-dress is a capote of Province rose-colored gros de Naples; it is of a large size; the brim is arranged alternately in plain and full compartments, and trimmed round the edge with a ruche of the same material: a corresponding ruche goes round the top of the crown: a full noeud of rose-colored gauze ribbon is placed on one side: the strings hang loose.
Evening Dress - A dress of pale blue tulle over a satin slip to correspond: the corsage sits close to the shape; it is cut low and is finished round the bust in a most novel style, with a fancy blue and white trimming, and a full fall of blond lace: beret sleeves terminated with a fall of blond lace set on full, and noeud of blue gauze ribbon in the centre of the arm. The trimming of the skirt is composed of a deep flounce of blond lace slightly festooned and headed by a trimming of blue gauze ribbon interspersed with noeuds. The hair turned up highly behind, is arranged on the summit of the head in three full bows, which are in a manner interlaced; it is much parted on the forehead and dressed in full curls on each side of the face. A white full blown rose with a bud and foliage, is inserted in the bows of hair on the left side. Bracelets, earrings, and neck-chain, gold. Carved ivory fan.
